When stitches are sewn, they pull the fabric inward, causing shapes to appear narrower than digitized. Pull compensation widens stitch paths slightly so the final sewn result matches the original design. Without proper pull compensation, letters appear thin, borders gap, and shapes distort. Our digitizers apply precise pull compensation based on fabric type and stitch direction.

How do you handle small text in embroidery digitizing?

Small text (under 6mm cap height) is one of the most challenging aspects of embroidery digitizing. At small sizes, satin stitches become too dense and fill stitches lose definition. Our digitizers use running stitch outlines, reduced density, and simplified letterforms to maintain legibility at small sizes. We recommend a minimum cap height of 4mm for readable embroidered text.
